Single pictures of a big and little cow, horse, pig and sheep + location cards of a tree and a haystack + 32 picture instruction cards + tips for using with children to help them use and understand words for farm animals, for big/little, and for the prepositions behind/in front of.
The farm animals can be placed in front of the tree and the haystack using the Velcro dots; they can be placed behind the tree and haystack by slipping them between the object and the baseboard. The tree and haystack are themselves Velcro’d onto their baseboards to allow animals to be placed behind them - see photos for examples.
There are 32 picture instruction cards showing each animal in each position relative to the tree (green cards) and the haystack (yellow cards).
These resources are designed to support activities at the 1 word level (e.g. ‘give me the COW’, ‘who is BEHIND the tree?’); at the 2 word level (‘put the pig BEHIND the HAYSTACK’, ‘where’s the BIG HORSE?’); at the 3 word level (‘put the SHEEP IN FRONT OF the TREE’, ‘where’s the LITTLE COW BEHIND the haystack?); and at the 4 word level (‘put the LITTLE PIG BEHIND the TREE’, ‘show me the BIG COW IN FRONT OF the HAYSTACK) etc.
There is an A5 tips sheet giving ideas on how to use the pictures.
All picture resources are laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic, and the Velcro dots are placed so as to be compatible with PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System).
Everything fits into an A5 zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag for portability and storage.
This is a great resource for supporting language development in children with delayed language, children with autism and children learning English as an additional language.
