Single pictures of a big and little bus, car, and motorbike + location cards of a house and a wall + 36 picture instruction cards + tips for using with children to help them use and understand words for transport, for big/little and for the prepositions behind/in front of/next to.
The vehicles can be placed in front of and next to the house and the wall using the Velcro dots; they can be placed behind the house and wall by slipping them between the object and the baseboard. The house and wall are themselves Velcro’d onto their baseboards to allow vehicles to be placed behind them - see photos for examples.
There are 36 picture instruction cards showing each vehicle in each position relative to the house (yellow cards) and the wall (green cards).
These resources are designed to support activities at the 1 word level (e.g. ‘give me the CAR ’; ‘what is NEXT TO the wall?’), at the 2 word level (‘put the bus BEHIND the HOUSE’, ‘where’s the BIG CAR?’) at the 3 word level (‘put the MOTORBIKE IN FRONT OF the WALL), and at the 4 word level (‘put the LITTLE BUS NEXT TO the HOUSE’)
There is an A5 tips sheet giving ideas on how to use the pictures.
All picture resources are laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic, and the Velcro dots are placed so as to be compatible with PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System).
Everything fits into an A5 zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag for portability and storage.
This is a great resource for supporting language development in children with delayed language, children with autism and children learning English as an additional language.
