Family counters toys + photo symbols + action words lotto + tips for use, to help your child learn words for the family and for simple actions:
MUMMY, DADDY, BOY, GIRL, BABY, DOG, EATING, WASHING, SLEEPING.
The Family Counters are brand new, bought from ‘Learning Resources- All about Me’. There are 6 figures: a Dad, Mum, boy, girl, baby and dog measuring between 1.5” and 2.5” tall; they are made from a plastic that is nice to hold in your hand, and can be stood up and used as counters in board games. The figures are brightly coloured in blue, green, red or yellow.
There are 6 photo symbols laminated with Matt non-reflective plastic, attached to an A5 base board with Velcro dots, compatible with other PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System).
These are designed to help your child make clear choices and learn words for members of the family.
There are 3 x A5 lotto boards, each showing black and white pictures of a bowl, a bath and bed for 2 characters e.g. Mummy & Daddy; there are 6 single picture cards showing actions to match the lotto board (each character eating, washing, sleeping).
These lottos are designed to help your child learn to understand and use language at the 1 word level (‘who’s EATING?’, ‘who’s that?’, ‘where’s DADDY?’, ‘what’s the BABY doing?’) and at the 2 word level (‘where’s the MUMMY EATING?’, ‘what’s happening?’, ‘Give me the DOG SLEEPING’).
There is an A5 page of tips with advice that has been tried and tested with children with delayed language and children with autism.
Everything fits into an A5 zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag for convenience and easy storage.
