Picture Resources: feelings lotto + 3 place boards + 5 single characters + 15 picture instruction cards + tips to help your child understand and use words for farm animals, feelings, weather and actions.
This resource has been designed to be used with the ‘Farmer Duck’ book, (NOT included in this pack), but the activities can also be used without the book.
There is a lotto board (backed with card), with 9 matching picture cards featuring animals and feelings that are shown in the book.
The character pictures are of a farmer, a duck, a hen, a cow and a sheep (as in the book), attached to a baseboard with Velcro coins.
There are 3 place boards of a field in the snow, in the rain, and in the sunshine, backed with card for extra durability. These all feature in the book, and can be used to talk about ‘cold’, ‘wet’ and ‘warm/hot’.
There is a pack of 15 picture instruction cards, featuring each of the characters in each place (e.g. the hen in the snow, the farmer in the rain).
These resources are designed to help children understand and use language at the 1 word level for feelings, animals, and weather (Who’s SCARED?, where’s the DUCK?, who’s in the RAIN?) and at the 2 word level (put the COW in the SUN; where’s the ANGRY HEN?).
Finally there is an advice sheet, with tips for using the resources to boost your child’s speech and language.
All the picture resources are laminated using non-reflective Matt plastic.
The picture resources and advice sheet all fit into an A4 popper bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag ,for convenience and durability.
This resource extends the language-boosting potential of a great book, with picture games that work well for children with delayed language, for children with autism, and for children learning English as an additional language.
