Picture resources: rhyming lotto x 12 pictures + single pictures + picture instruction cards x 36 + tips to help your child understand and use more words related to clothes.
This resource is designed to help children use and understand the following words up to the 4 word level:
BIG, LITTLE, BLUE, WHITE, GREEN, TROUSERS, T-SHIRT, SOCKS, WASHING MACHINE, WASHING LINE, DRAWER.
These resources are designed to be used with ‘Fox’s Socks’ book, but all the activities can be used either with or without the book. THE BOOK IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS PACK.
The rhyming lotto has 2 baseboards (approximately A5 size) and 12 pictures that rhyme and relate closely to the book, all laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic.
The single picture cards are of little and big green and white socks, blue and white t-shirts and blue and white trousers, laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic and attached to 2 x A5 baseboards, of a big and little fox, with Velcro dots, that are compatible with PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System).
There are 3 place boards, approximately A5 in size, of a washing machine, a washing line, and a chest of drawers, laminated and backed with card for extra durability.
There is a pack of 36 picture instruction cards, approximately 10cm x 7cm in size, featuring each of the clothes in each of the places (e.g. the little white socks in the drawer, the big blue trousers in the washing machine), laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic.
The resources are designed to help children understand use language at the 1 word level (where are the SOCKS?), the 2 word level (put the SOCKS in the DRAWER; WASH the PYJAMAS), the 3 word level (put the GREEN SOCKS on the WASHING LINE), and the 4 word level (put BIG fox’s BLUE T-SHIRT in the WASHING MACHINE, put the LITTLE GREEN SOCKS in the DRAWER).
Finally there is an advice sheet, laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic, with tips for using the resources to boost your child’s speech and language, gained from my 30 years work as a Speech and Language Therapist (now retired).
The picture resources and advice sheet all fit into a sturdy A5 size zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag ,for convenience and durability.
