Grandpa Pig’s Boat building set with visual resources for choosing and giving instructions: object-photo matching baseboards x 3 + photo instructions + Help symbol + Tips for use.
The boat kit is used but in excellent condition. It measures 27cm in length when built, and can be rolled along a surface as it has wheels.
There are 34 bricks/pieces in all, and they are quite big, so are suitable for younger children (being easy to handle and put together.)
These resources help children to make requests and to give and follow instructions as in Lego Therapy activities. There is an A4 page detailing how to use the resources.
Children can match each part to the picture on the A4 baseboards (there are 14 photos across 3 pages): the photos are approximately the same size as the pieces to make matching easier, and are labelled to build vocabulary of colour, shape and size.
Children can then build the boat by following another child/adult use the photo instructions.
These photo instructions are numbered 1-30, and measure approximately 20cm x 9cm.
The toys come in one A4 + + zipped bag (measuring 405mm x 260mm) and the visual resources fit into an A4 popper wallet, both labelled with a brown parcel tag.
This pack is highly recommended for children with ASD and children with delayed language. It can be used for one child to build their communication skills, then for pair work or small group work.
