Duck, spider, teddy with hat, shoe and sock + photo symbols + ‘I want..’ sentence starter + preposition lottos + tips for use, to help your child learn words for prepositions and for some clothes and animals:
IN, ON, UNDER, DUCK, SPIDER, TEDDY, HAT, SHOE, SOCK , I WANT
The objects are brand new and made from either strong cardboard (the hat), or material (the sock, shoe and teddy) or plastic (the duck and spider). The hat is a craft object, the shoe is baby-size, the sock is child-size, and the spider, teddy and duck are toys.
There are 6 photo symbols laminated with Matt non-reflective plastic, attached to a base board with Velcro dots, compatible with other PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System). These are designed to help your child make clear choices and learn words for some clothes and animals. These come with an ‘I want..’ strip to help children move on to short sentence requests e.g. ‘I want duck’.
There are 4 preposition lottos each with 6 matching photos. The 4 card -backed lotto boards feature the SPIDER, TEDDY and DUCK with the prepositions IN, ON, UNDER; the lotto pictures are also used separately as instructions e.g. ‘put the SPIDER UNDER the SOCK’.
These lottos are designed to help your child learn to understand and use language at the 3 word level (‘put the DUCK IN the SOCK’, ‘put the SPIDER ON the HAT’).
There is an A5 page of tips with advice that has been tried and tested with children with delayed language and children with autism.
