There is a Colourful Semantics baseboard with space for 1 of the story pictures at the top, space for 3 Velcro’d Question words (Who?, What doing?, Where?) to structure your child’s sentence, and space underneath for 3 matching colour-coded pictures that your child can choose to describe the story picture using 3 elements e.g. ‘ The hungry boy chased the gingerbread man .’ There are 20 colour-coded pictures, each measuring approximately 6cm x 6cm, and the sentences are either Who?-What doing?-Where? or Who?-What doing?-Who?
The 3 word level activity has 2 place cards of a horse and a fox, with velcro to indicate the positions on the tail, the back and the nose; 3 velcro’d characters of a gingerbread boy, girl and Santa, on a gingerbread house baseboard, and 18 picture instructions to encourage listening to and expressing 3 word level phrases such as ‘Put the gingerbread boy on the horse’s tail ’.
