Picture Resources: Snap/Pairs game + picture cards + tips to help your child understand and use ‘Big’ and ‘Little’, ‘One’ and ‘All’ and words for food and drink. The resources are designed to go with ‘The Tiger Who came to Tea’ book, (not included in this pack), but all the activities can be used with or without the book.
The Snap or Pairs game has 24 pictures of food and drink items that feature in the story.
There are 2 place boards of a tiger and a girl, backed with card for extra durability.
The BIG/LITTLE pictures are of a big and little biscuit, cake and sandwich (all in the book), attached to a baseboard with Velcro dots; they come with a pack of 12 picture instruction cards, featuring each of the food items on either the tiger’s plate or the girl’s plate.
The ONE/ALL pictures are of a plate of biscuits, a plate of cakes and a plate of sandwiches (representing ALL), each with a single biscuit, cake or sandwich that can be taken from the top (representing ONE), attached to another baseboard with Velcro dots; they come with a corresponding pack of 12 picture instruction cards.
The resources are designed to help children understand and use language at the 2 word level (where’s the LITTLE CAKE?, give the TIGER a SANDWICH etc), and at the 3 word level (give the TIGER a BIG BISCUIT, give the GIRL ALL the CAKES, etc).
Finally there is an A5 advice sheet, with tips for using the resources to boost your child’s speech and language, gained from my 30 years work as a Speech and Language Therapist (now retired).
All the picture resources and the TIPS sheet are laminated with Matt non-reflective plastic. All the Velcro dots are compatible with other PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System).
The picture resources and advice sheet fit into a sturdy A5 zipped bag, labelled with a brown parcel tag for convenient storage and portability.
