“The Very Hungry Caterpillar” book + picture cards + tips to help your child understand and use ‘Big’ and ‘Little’ and words for food.
The book is a brand new board book and has 14 pages featuring a range of food items in this well-known story.
The picture cards are of a an apple, pear, plum, orange, strawberry, melon, ice-cream, sausage, cheese, cake and lollipop (all in the book), laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic and attached to a baseboard with Velcro dots, that are compatible with PECS products (Picture Exchange Communication System).
There are 2 place boards of little caterpillar and a big caterpillar, laminated and backed with card for extra durability.
There is a pack of 24 picture instruction cards, featuring each of the food items with either the little caterpillar or the big caterpillar, laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic and held together with an elastic band.
The resources are designed to help children understand use language at the 2 word level (give the APPLE to the LITTLE caterpillar, give the CAKE to the BIG caterpillar etc).
Finally there is an A5 advice sheet, laminated in non-reflective Matt plastic, with tips for using the resources to boost your child’s speech and language, gained from my 30 years work as a Speech and Language Therapist (now retired).
