This is a set of guessing games based around a treasure island. They work as Barrier Games, where 1 person chooses a picture and the other has to ask questions in order to eliminate pictures and arrive at the answer.
1. Guess Who? Pirates & Sailors game with 20 pairs of characters + 2 baseboards and 2 sets of 20 questions, 1 side written, the other side illustrated.
2. Guess Where? Treasure Island Map game with 2 maps, each with 20 Velcro dots placed on it, and 2 symbol baseboards: 1 has 19 black ‘0’ symbols, 1 red cross symbol and 5 treasure icons; the other has 1 red cross symbol and 5 treasure icons + 2 sets of 20 questions, 1 side written, the other side illustrated.
3. Guess What? Treasure game with 30 pairs of treasure pictures (6 pairs each of swords, shields, crowns, chests, and grails) and 2 baseboards + 2 sets of 20 questions, 1 side written, the other side illustrated.
There is an A4 page of advice for playing the games.
Each game is in its own A4 popper bag and all the games plus the advice sheet fit into an A4 zipped bag labelled with a brown parcel tag.
This pack works to support children’s social use of language (pragmatics) with activities that develop turn-taking questions and answers, and deduction skills. Highly recommended for children with delayed language, children with Autism, and children learning English.
