‘What the Ladybird Heard’ Paperback Book + Story Sequencing Pictures with Matching Why?/How? Question cards + Why?/How? Definition cards + baseboard + 2 animal counters (ladybird and cow) + dice + tips.
This is a pack of picture card activities linked to the ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ story to support children with story sequencing and answering a range of ‘Why?” And ‘How?’ Questions.
The full length paperback book is included in this pack. It measures 25cm x 25cm and has 12 double pages with text. The story sequencing pictures map onto each double page (sometimes 2 per page).
Why? And How? Questions are a frequent part of school language and of everyday conversation, and regular structured support will benefit a range of children who find these difficult.
There are 16 story sequencing pictures - 1 (sometimes 2) per double page of the book. There are 16 matching question cards, with 3 questions on each, 1-2 Why? Questions and 1-2 How? Questions.
These question cards have simple prompts to give children to help them answer the questions, and are used together with the definition cards which have some example questions on each.
2 animal counters (a ladybird and a cow) and a dice are included for use as a ‘snakes and ladders’ type game where counters can continue to move only if the answers on the corresponding card are answered correctly. This game can be played with an adult or another child.
If more specific practise in answering Why? And How? Questions are needed, there is a separate pack for this in this section, or a Bumper What the Ladybird Heard pack which includes both packs.
This is a great practise pack with tips for generalising what has been learned.
Recommended for children with delayed language, children with autism and children learning English.
